Day 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Malaga pass - Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).
Our bus leaves by 7:30 am from Cusco city to drive for a couple hours to Ollantaytambo where you stop for an optional breakfast, afterwards you still drive up to Malaga pass and down to Hydroelectric where you'll have lunch by 2:00 pm.
After lunch you start hiking by 3:00 pm along the train track like 10 flat km in about three hours to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).
After having dinner and a hot shower you will sleep at Aguas Calientes in a comfortable hostel.

On day two you have to wake up very early at 4:00 am, and after breakfast you start hiking by 4:30 am so the first 30 minutes is flat along the road and 1 more hour uphill through stairy shortcut to be at Machu Picchu by 6:00 am.
After having your guided tour for 2 hours, it is recommended to explore in Machu Picchu until 11:30 am the latest (the Sun gate is recommended) to start hiking back to Hydroelectric where the bus leaves at 3:00 pm the latest so after 6 hours driving you will be back at Cusco city by 10:00 pm.
